A big weekend of racing for JCR/Honda’s Preston Campbell ended in a double podium after completing a 9 hour overnight drive to race two events in two days!

On the Saturday, Preston was in Delta, Utah for the fourth round of the AMA National Hare & Hound alongside 613 other riders in a stacked field. Riding his Kenda shod CRF450X, Preston was in the top three at the end of the bomb run, and led the race for the first 51 miles of challenging desert terrain.

After the pit stop, he headed back into a more technical second loop which saw riders climb more than 7,000 feet, eventually finishing in third place to claim his first ever podium in the series.

Straight after the event he completed a 9 hour drive back to the Lucerne Valley in California for the next round of the District 37 Hare & Hound championships against some of the area’s best desert racers.

With two fast, furious loops of nearly 80 miles ahead, Preston was mid-pack at the end of the bomb run, with the dusty conditions making for challenging conditions. However, after a series of clean and clinical passes, he found his way to the front just before the entering the pits. With clean goggles and fresh fuel, he charged ahead from the pits to finish more than 3 minutes ahead by the end of the race, capping off a great weekend with a well deserved win.

Preston currently sits third in the AMA National Hare & Hounds, and continues to lead the District 37 championship ahead of the next two races both scheduled for the first weekend in May, which will result in another long overnight drive!
