The annual Tough Like RORR enduro in the US state of Pennsylvania is an event that can seriously take its toll on riders and their bikes!

However, this year proved be a fantastic one for Kenda, with four of our supported riders in the top five in the main class, including eventual race winner Cody Webb.

Webb’s rivalry with fellow long time competitor Colton Haaker was a big focus in the run up to the main race on Sunday, and it was Haaker who took the early lead.

Cody, now riding for Sherco FactoryOne, was making his first appearance at Tough Like RORR. By the end of the second lap, both the extreme heat and the Sherco had got the better of Haaker on the Husqvarna, and he would eventually drop out of the race altogether.

Riding on a combination of the brand new Kenda Knarly supersoft, paired with the latest Washougal III front tyre, Webb continued to extend his lead over Ryder LeBlond in second, while Beta Factory Racing’s Ron Commo III and Max Gerston held third and fourth, with Sherco’s Nick Fahringer in fifth.

In the Women’s Final, the top two riders were also on Kenda, with Beta’s Rachel Gutish taking the top honours ahead of ‘Queen of the Motos’ champion Louise Forsley on the factory Sherco.

“It was definitely pretty tough,” said Webb. “That first lap I was up there, and I was thinking, this could definitely be harder than I thought. But two-thirds of the way through that second lap, I was kind of like, ‘I understand now.’ It started kind of just dragging down on you. There are endless rocks. The first lap, I was riding with Colton there for the huge majority of it. We were having just a really hot pace. I kind of just let him run his pace making there, hoping it would wear him out. Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t. But I was making a lot of mistakes when I was behind him. The second lap, I just kind of rode my own race and felt way better even though a little more fatigued.”

The first UK shipment of the new, road legal Kenda Knarly is due to arrive later this month.

Sharing a compound with the famed Kenda Ibex, they are FIM approved and can be combined with our other road legal enduro tyres including the Gauntlet soft. A 19-inch rear tyre suitable for motocross bikes will also be available.

The Washougal III will become available later in the year.
