This weekend Grant Baylor has made history by winning Sherco’s first ever AMA National Enduro Series after a superb ride in Turkey, Texas.
Grant headed to the season finale at Caprock Canyon knowing that a finish of 11th place of better in the overall classification would be enough to secure the title, but he never looked like he was going to settle for doing ‘just enough’ to top the championship.
With defending champion, former teammate and brother Steward snapping at his heels, Grant was determined to stamp his authority on the series and sign off the 2020 season with a bang.
Steward came flying out of the blocks early on to win the opening section, with Grant 7 seconds behind in 4th place. By the end of the next section he was up to third, and a superb ride in section three put him top.
Steward then hit back in the penultimate section to lead by around 20 seconds before Grant put in a stunning comeback in the final part of the race to relegate his brother to second overall and win Caprock Canyon by a slim 4s margin.
Grant’s win caps off a hugely successful first season for Sherco FactoryOne Racing in partnership with Kenda, with a number of impressive victories from riders also including Cody Webb and Louise Forsley.
Congratulations to the whole Sherco team from everyone at Kenda UK!
