The brand new K778 Knarly is our latest, road-legal tyre for extreme enduro.

Already used to great effect by Cody Webb in his recent win at the Tough Like RORR, it features a supersoft, flexible compound which delivers race winning levels of grip on a wide range of surfaces from wet rock to soft dirt.

It comes in a number of 18 and 19-inch rear sizes, and can be paired with the soft K777 Knarly front, or any of the other standard or extreme options from our current enduro range.

In their new September issue, US magazine Dirt Bike awarded the new Knarly a maximum 5 star rating in their gummy trail tyre test stating:

“Another new tyre to the Kenda lineup is the Knarly, which we tested in the 140/80-18 size. It is a multi-directional tyre with a soft and an intermediate direction, which is the route that we chose. This tyre has a very wide footprint makign a strong contact patch with the terrain. This tyre excelled in the rocks, both the unstable loose rocks and the large granite rocks. It was always able to maintain forward momentum in the nasty conditions. It performed well in combinations of dirt – from dry and hard packed to thick and sandy. We downgraded it on off-camber zones slightly, but braking traction was strong. We were also able to ride at a decent trail speed without the tyre feeling too gummy or squishy. Wear was minimal, and the Kenda Knarly gets a 5 out of 5 rating.”

Our non-road legal supersoft, the Kenda Ibex, also came in for strong praise due to the excellent grip levels on various kinds of terrain:

“This is a very well-rounded tyre. From wet to dry and everything in between, the traction is superb. It’s one of the best tyres for off-camber or side hills. It loves all types of rocks and will keep you moving forwards. The knobs are quite tall, so it is also good in thick dirt and sand.”

The Ibex was marked down on durability and stability at higher speeds – but it is worth noting that this tyre was never intended to give big mileage. The Ibex was designed in conjunction with top US pro riders to give the maximum amount of traction for hard enduro, and it not recommended for use at speeds above 40mph.
