Two weeks on from his last double-header, JCR/Honda’s rising star Preston Campbell was at it again over the weekend with races in Utah and California on the same weekend!

The National Hare & Hounds fifth round took place in Jericho, Utah with two taxing 40 mile loops climbing roughly 7,500 feet. Each loop started with seven miles of dunes, and Preston hit the top five from the start and quickly fought his way up to 2nd place which he held to the end of the first loop.

A furious battle for the podium ensued and Preston was unlucky to be involved in a collision and suffer from some mechanical issues, but he fought hard to take 4th overall and he enters the summer break third in the championship.

After the brutal three hours of racing, Preston the drove overnight to Red Mountain in California for the finale of the D37 Hare & Hound championship, with two equally testing 35 mile loops ready and waiting. Sitting in 3rd off the dusty bomb run, Preston set his sights on the leader and quickly moved his CRF450X to the top spot, and the battle heated up as the leaders exchanged positions several times.

Navigation and speed proved to be the key in this hard fought final race, and Preston grabbed his third win of the series and secured the 2021 AMA District 37 Hare and Hound title, and the first Off-Road racing Championship for American Honda in the 2021 season.

From 2021 the whole JCR/Honda team will be using tyres from the Kenda off-road range, putting them to the test in some of the USA’s most difficult racing conditions.
