Last weekend saw the AMA Extreme Off-Road East series head to Iowa for the inaugural running of the Iowan Hard Enduro, with FactoryOne Sherco riders Cody Webb and Louise Forsley both hoping to keep up their momentum in the Men’s and Women’s Pro classes.

After winning the first round of her season at Grinding Stone, Louise had to settle for third at the East-meets-West Rev Limiter last month, so she was determined to get back on the top step of the podium this time out.

The opening loop of the Iowan course was rather timid by hard enduro standards, with most of the top riders finishing inside 30 minutes. While this didn’t suit Cody’s riding style, Louise topped the women’s opening moto and finished a very respectable 21st overall in a field of more than 100 riders.

Forsley was the only rider in the Women’s class to make it into the final 32 who would face the more challenging second loop, guaranteeing her the overall victory ahead of KTM mounted Shelby Turner, also riding on Kenda.

Meanwhile, Cody really went for it on the second loop as he looked to make up for the fourth placed finish in the opening moto. After a tight first section, he was able to open up a solid lead before some issues mid-race saw the chasing pack reel him in. With the issues out of the way, he set a blistering pace in the latter half of the lap to beat Trystan Hart by six seconds, giving him 2nd place overall on the day with teammates Pat Smage and Nick Fahringer in 6th and 7th respectively.
