Last weekend saw Sherco FactoryOne Racing’s star signing Cody Webb make his race debut for the new team, as he took on the always hotly contested King of the Motos extreme enduro.

Taking place in California’s Lucerne Valley, the event consisted of three different loops and kicked off with the iconic land-rush start which saw riders scramble for position straight up a rocky mountain before heading into the bronze loop.

Webb was chasing his fifth King of the Motos win after a year-long lay-off from racing, which he spent recovering from a knee injury.

After 5 hard hours of racing, Cody was one of just four riders to enter the final gold loop, running second behind reigning WESS champion Manuel Lettenbichler. However, an error from the Red Bull KTM rider saw him slip back to third by the end of the race, with Webb taking the win from Trystan Hart in second.

There was also a fantastic result for Sherco FactoryOne rider Louise Forsley in the brand new Women’s Class, as she was crowned Queen of the Motos after a stellar performance on her 125 SE two-stroke.

Although Cody was riding on a brand new prototype tyre, Louise’s bike was fitted with the Kenda Ibex on the rear, and K776F Gauntlet on the front.

Both of these tyres have recently arrived in the UK, along with a wider range of K779 Gauntlet rear tyres.

The FIM approved Gauntlet range is all street-legal, with the new-to-UK K776F front tyre ideal for use on hard-packed and rocky ground.

Later this year we will also see the arrival of the new Knarly range. The K777F Knarly front tyre shares the same soft compound as the Gauntlet, but the more open tread design makes it better suited to soft and intermediate terrain. The rear tyre shares it’s super-soft compound with the Ibex, but unlike the Ibex, it is manufactured to FIM specifications and will be suitable for use in all extreme enduro competition.
